Theme-Winter/New Years

Project-Winter/New Years Glittery arrangement

Ed Talk/Activities-Winter Landscapes: Traits of American Gumball Tree (Gumballs sprayed silver used in arrangement), characteristics of all other plant materials used (especially conifers), shared New Years toasts from participants and MG’s and served sparkling water for a toast. MH/LN

 

Theme- Winter

Project-Snow on Evergreen Boughs-mixed evergreens, white alstroemeria, and baby’s breath as snow.  Arrangement in oasis floral foam, cans as container with silver ribbon around top of can.

Ed Talk/Activities-Talked about the plant material.  LH

 

Theme-A New Plant for the New Year

Project-Residents planted an assortment of rooted cuttings prepared by the team members.

Ed Talk/Activities- Caring for houseplants  GH

 

Theme-New Years Project

Project-Champagne glasses spray painted grey with white daisies, greens, baby’s breath, silver bells.

Ed Talk/Activities-Read New Years toasts and sang Auld Lang Syne, served apple juice for toasting.  HC

 

Theme-Houseplants

Project-Using jade plant cuttings, helped residents pot them with potting mixture into containers.

Ed Talk/Activities-How to care for houseplant and provided HG IPM series: Houseplants and the Symbolism of the jade plant (friendship).  BRG-W

 

Theme-Welcome to the New Year

Project-Champagne glass painted gold or silver with gold or silver decor picks.

Ed Talk/Activities-Winter Solstice, toasting, common toasts.  Offered toast to the New Year with sparkling grape juice.  KN

 

Theme-Superbowl

Project-Arranged mums in half football dish (from Dollar Tree) using oasis cut to shape with football themes picks.

Ed Talk/Activities-History of mums and how they became associated with football, cheerleading and homecoming corsages. STB/BHT

 

Theme-Perfumes and Scents from Flowers

Project-Making Potpourri

Ed Talk/Activities-Talked about flower fields in Grasse, France and how flowers become perfume.  FH
